Circle Cutting & Hole Burning

Cutting a round hole by hand is one of the least forgiving jobs in a fab shop. The line wanders, the bevel angle drifts, and every hole needs grinding before it will take a weld. A circle cutter fixes the torch to a radius bar, sets the speed, and produces the same hole every time.

MAG Tool carries the full Bug-O circle cutting line. The range runs from a lightweight machine one person carries to the work and centres on a single punch mark, through to a 225 lb magnetic-base burner that cuts a 48″ hole in a vessel wall in a single pass.

The choice comes down to four things: the diameter you need, whether the cut is square or bevelled, whether you are running oxy-fuel or plasma, and how the machine gets held to the work — magnets, vacuum, or mounted on a carriage or manipulator you already own.
